Yes, having something to offer that directly impacts your public speaking audience is key to having them sit up and pay attention to your speech.

I’d not argue that public speaking is a great way to market what you do… but…. :)

I know I’m biased (because of what I do for a living!) but I think it’s worth mentioning that when you do your public speaking you need to make very, very sure you do it well. Thing is, the audience will associate the quality of your product/service with the quality of your presentation. If you present badly, you’ll be assumed to be selling cheap and nasty tat.

If a thing’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well….. :)
